bitter_tirades: Just a walk.

The wind was warm and Mac had to admit the peace of the outdoors in this moment. Two days ago if you told her she would be walking down a Mexican beach with an 09er, she would have laughed in your face.

But here she was. And it wasn't half bad.

Beaver was kind of cute, sort of funny and even though related to the infamous Dick, very non-Dick like. He liked weird things like Russian literature, real estate and bananna creme pie. He also had sarcasm, she like that.

"...so I told Dick that he had better hide the dead squirrel or, or, ahahahaha, Kendall would never let him near the poolhouse again," Beaver said trying to catch his breath between laughs.

Mac laughed loudly along with him and she smiled at Beaver. "That was a most excellent tale of valour and chivalry. So any deep dark secrets I need to know about you?" She said in her best flirty voice. She wasn't actually sure she knew what a flirty voice sounded like, but she had watched just enough OC to mimic it.

Beaver stiffened a little at deep dark secrets, but still managed to laugh it off. "I think I showed you my whole hand-- embarrassing pants-ing at the hand of Dick aside that is."

"So, Veronica and Logan really have the subtly with kicking us out don't they? You think they could have left a sock on the door as a hint or something." Beaver said looking at Mac out of the corner of his eye. She was smart. Maybe almost as smart as him. He could definitely appreciate that in a girl.

"Anything I should know about you? Past murders? Evil plots?"

"I must admit a couple of evil plots, but you, unfotunately were caught up in one. You know the Purity Test website," she shrugged her shoulders innocently, "That was all me."

Beaver didn't seem like the kind of guy to get really pissed about that sort of thing. He didn't really seem like a pissed-off kind of guy in general.

Wow, she was as smart as him. An excellent partner-in-crime-type person.

He kept his face as straight as possible, "I can't believe you would take money for me and all my friends just for your own gain!"

He paused and smiled evil-y. "That is pretty awesome."

"So how did you get so good at the computer stuff anyway?" He looked out at the ocean, sand and moonlight. It was beautiful in that sweeping novella way-- a little cheesy, but still undeniable. It was a moment where the hero took the heroine in his arms and kissed her.

Beav looked at Mac out of the corner of his eye. That was way too weird to even think of.

Mac saw Beaver's look of approval at her scheme. Well at least he didn't want to run away or think she was a super nerd or something annoying like that. Most boys didn't even really give her the time of day, much less want to listen to the intricacies of her evil plans.

"I've just always had an aptitude, I guess. Not to mention hours of practice. That always helps when working on becoming the Master of the Universe," she smiled at him. She wasn't sure if it was the tequila talking, but she was pretty sure she was getting a crush on an 09er. He was no dashing, dangerous Logan Echolls or an asshole like Dick Casablancas, he was just another interesting person in the sea of Neptune.

"So what are you good at Beav?"

Thu, Jun. 29th, 2006 07:41 pm (UTC)

"Actually, it's, um, Cassidy, not Beaver. I mean-- I just don't really like it." Beaver didn't want to sound like a dork or anything, but he would really rather have Mac call him by his real name, not the stupid shit that Dick made up to torture him.

"But, in reference to your question, I would have to say that I'm sort of good at languages. Oh, and Risk. It is the only game I can beat Dick at every time we play. I like the strategy stuff."

Thu, Jun. 29th, 2006 07:47 pm (UTC)

"I get the nickname thing. I guess I kind of use mine to hide a little, but I chose it. My name-- my real name is Cindy. I don't really know if I want you to call me that though," Mac said with a small smile.

They were nearing the end of the beach. Mac pulled out a couple of mini bottles of tequila that had been in the beach house fridge. She was pretty sure that Dick was paying for stuff so she figured why not take advantage.

"Here, a little liquid courage for you." She uncapped hers, clinked it with his and took a long glug of it.

Her eyes watered and she coughed a little from the harshness of it.

"Courage, eh? Are we about to jump off a bridge or something?" Beav retorted, but he ungrudgingly downed his shot at the same time as Mac. Or Cindy. Mac was better he thought-- it said tough and encased just like her laptop. Not a soft girl like Cindy implied.

He finished his shot in mere seconds and noticed Mac choke a little on hers. Obviously drinking shots was not in her normal Saturday night plan.

"Should we go grab our suits and take a midnight swim?" He said, daring himself to be a little brave.

Giggling, Mac responded, "We might have to see something that we don't want to between Logan and Veronica."

Beaver Cassidy didn't look too amused at the implication. So she changed the subject, "You want to just sit down here in the sand and maybe talk about taking over the worl--"

"Boo!" Came the yell from right behind her head. "Scared the shit out of you didn't I, jerkoffs!"

Thu, Jun. 29th, 2006 11:31 pm (UTC)

Getting a little uncomfortable from the sex talk stuff, Beaver was happy that she just wanted to sit and talk. Sitting and talking didn't lead to other things.

He hadn't heard his brother coming up on them before he yelled. He heard himself squeak like a girl and then, "What the fuck are you doing, Dick? You almost gave me a heart attack!"

"Dude, we are in Mexico. We are supposed to be partying it down, not taking stupid walks on the beach. I was just trying to livin' it up around here a bit." Dick clapped Beaver on the back and gave him the thumbs up sign.

Beaver rolled his eyes and apologetically shrugged his shoulders in Mac's direction.

"So you guys want to do some skinny dipping or something? Logan and Veronica are back in the room 'talking' and the ocean is like our Manifest Destiny." Eyebrows raised, survey them, he wasn't getting much of a response. Why were they so boring? He should have talked Madison into coming or something. At least someone would have taken their clothes off with him.
